Missing The Mark On Fitness Goals: Common Factors And Solutions

You’ve had it up to here. No matter how hard you try to lose weight, get in shape, and improve your health, it doesn’t seem to be enough. You’ve spent countless hours, and who knows how much money investing in diet programs, fitness routines, and wellness products. You don’t want to give up, but the frustration of not reaching your goals weighs on you emotionally. Something has got to give.

Does the above scenario sound familiar? Lots of people have found themselves feeling this way about their health and fitness goals. While many want to be healthy inside and out, they don’t realize how complicated the journey can be. There are lots of underlying factors that could be preventing you from improving your health and wellness. If you’re going to start making more progress, you must first identify possible issues and develop solutions.

Impatience

One of the most significant issues people have with reaching their fitness goals is they’re impatient. They have their goals etched in stone and believe that they should see results right away. The only problem with that is, results can vary. If you didn’t meet your marks, you automatically assume the methods you’re trying didn’t work, so you give up.

Before deciding if a health and fitness strategy is effective or not, give it time. Depending on your current health, genetics, lifestyle, and other factors, it could take you longer to see the difference. Allowing at least 60-90 days to see some improvements is ideal.

Bad Habits

They say old habits die hard, and they weren’t lying. Accomplishing health and fitness goals often means letting go of unhealthy habits. Whether it’s smoking, drinking alcohol, skipping meals, overeating sugar, or snacking on junk food, these habits can keep you from making progress.

It’s not easy letting go of old habits, but it’s necessary to reach the next level of your fitness journey. Identify your bad habits and develop strategies to reduce and eventually eliminate them. For example, if you’re having a hard time giving up salty or sweet snacks, you can switch to healthier alternatives like kale chips, sweet potato fries, or fresh fruit.

Plateaus

If you started with an exercise routine that seemed to work but suddenly stops after a few weeks, you might be encouraged to quit. Why waste your time on something that’s no longer effective? At least that’s what you’ve chosen to believe.

The reality is, your body has reached a plateau. It ultimately means that your exercise routines aren’t challenging enough for the advancements your body has made. For example, lifting 25lbs was a struggle; in the beginning, now you can do it with ease. If you haven’t increased the amount of weight you’re using, you won’t see any more progress. The solution is very simple. Vary your exercise routine, evaluate your progress, and adjust to continue challenging yourself to the next level.

Negative Mindset

The last underlying factor of why it may be hard for you to reach your fitness goals is a negative mindset. It’s a challenging one to get past but necessary for success. If you’re always listening to that small voice in the back of your head that tells you you’re too fat, not strong enough, or getting nowhere fast; you’ll find it hard to move on.

The good news is there are a lot of ways to conquer a negative mindset. You can write and recite positive affirmations, reward yourself for small milestones, and surround yourself with supportive people to help you walk this journey. Taking CBN isolate powder can also help naturally reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression, for a more confident and relaxed state of mind.

You might hear a lot of success stories about people setting fitness goals and reaching them without a hitch, but that’s not the norm. Remember that everyone’s journey is different, and it takes time, patience, and discipline to get the results you want. Lots of people run into underlying factors that can hinder their success. The best way to get back on track is to figure out what’s holding you back and develop a plan to rise above it.
