With the chaos that has ensued in the previous months, many of us are looking forward to 2021. With the start of each year, many of us become hopeful and optimistic about what we can achieve as the weeks and months unfold. If you’re ready to put a dent in the universe, here are some tips to get your 2021 started right.

  1. Declutter Your Home and Storage Areas

One of the core components of a successful and productive lifestyle is having a home conducive to rest and relaxation. After a long day in the office and checking off tasks from our to-do list, the last thing we want to do is organize our living area.

In the following weeks, we encourage you to move unused items into containers and, ultimately, into a storage unit. When using climate-controlled Walnut Creek storage and similar facilities in other communities, you can rest assured that your valuable items are stored with the utmost care and professionalism!

  1. Start a Rewarding Hobby

In 2021, get a hobby that brings you peace and allows you to unwind from your hectic schedule. When individuals aim to remove stress and anxiety from their waking hours, they often overlook the power of a productive hobby. Not only will a fun and entertaining hobby fill you with joy, but it will give you a tangible skill that evolves and grows over time.

With the holidays just around the corner, you may even be able to give your arts and crafts as gifts to friends and loved ones.

  1. Start an At-Home Workout Routine

With the newfound space you’ve freed up from decluttering your house, now is the time to get in shape and tone those biceps! Find an area within your house where you can exercise undisturbed for 20 or 30 minutes. While there are a plethora of exercises that will sculpt your abs and help you shed holiday weight, here are some frameworks to experiment with:

  • Yoga
  • High-intensity interval training (HIIT)
  • Plyometrics
  • Kettlebells
  • Stationary bike
  • Jumprope

Use your new space as a means of changing your body and revolutionizing your health!

  1. Read More Books

If water, nutritious foods, and exercise are the catalysts for a healthy body, reading is the foundation upon which intelligence is built. In the weeks and months to come, we encourage you to opt for literary works instead of leisure activities such as watching movies, browsing social media, or spending time with toxic people. Not only will reading provide countless hours of joy, but it will also help you focus and improve your verbal fluency.

  1. Spend Time With People Who Mean Something To You

In the upcoming year, we hope that you will consider spending time with the people you consider important. While we get lost in our nine-to-five schedules and tight deadlines, we often forget to check in with our friends, family, and loved ones. By doing this, we distance ourselves from these people and cause stress and anxiety to mount like never before.

Even with the mandates and restrictions that our countries may have, we can still dedicate small parts of our week to reach out to old friends and colleagues. While this may seem like a minor inconvenience, it will work wonders on your mental health in 2021 and beyond!
