I just got home from the fabulous Mom2.0 Summit and Iris Awards.
So naturally, that means I’m home for 3 days before I have to fly back to California for the premiere of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, rebel heartthrob.
While we’re talking about heartthrobs, can we talk about the fact that Donald Glover plays Lando Calrissian? Because heck YESSSSS, people! Heck. Yes.
Will I get to meet Alden or Donald?
I honestly don’t know, but as soon as I know I’ll update on Twitter, so make sure you’re following along using the hashtag #HanSoloEvent.
The only reason I got my Star Wars tattoo was so I’d be invited to a Star Wars event some day and it finally paid off.
OK, I’m lying.
I actually got the tattoo as a nod to my children and our collective love of the franchise from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
I never in my life thought I’d have the opportunity to sport R2-D2, Princess Leia, & Boba Fett down the red carpet of a Star Wars premiere, and yet here we are. This is the first time bloggers have been invited to the premiere of a Star Wars film, and I’m going to be there.
I just realized that Jon Favreau is in the film, and he is still my favorite celebrity interview from two years ago. If I get to meet him again, I’m going to be pretty stinking giddy.
Coming off my Iris Awards win, I think May is going to be a pretty freaking amazing month, right?
In addition to all the Star Wars fun, we’ll be celebrating the 65th anniversary of “Peter Pan” with a dope scavenger hunt around Disney Studios property.
Get your running shoes on, guys. I’m competitive AF, and I will eat you like the crocodile ate Capt. Hook’s hand if you don’t bring your competitive spirit with you.
We will also visit the Animation Research Library where we will see original drawings from the film. We will also be some of the first people to see special behind the scenes bonus features from the “A Wrinkle in Time” in-home release followed by a Q&A with Deric McCabe who plays “Charles Wallace Murry” in the film! “A Wrinkle in Time” is available on Digital 5/29 and Blu-ray 6/5.
Finally, we will get a peek behind the scenes of ABC’s iconic and Emmy Award-winning daytime drama, “General Hospital” which is in its 55th anniversary year!
( Side note: “General Hospital” boasts quite the star-studded cast list from throughout its 55 years, including “Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill who appeared on the show in the ’70s. )
Our exclusive experience will highlight the upcoming Nurses Ball episodes, set to air the week of May 16-21 . The Nurses Ball charity gala and talent show began on “General Hospital” in 1994 to help raise awareness for HIV and AIDS.
So be sure to follow along on Twitter and Instagram using #HanSoloEvent & #PeterPanBluray
