Madilyn loves to look just like me, right down to our fancy hair styles . She is always trying to get me to curl her hair and braid it and fancy it up. Gosh darnit if I can’t ever find a headband to put on my head. She confiscates them as soon as I buy them. I really enjoy doing her hair but because my hair is naturally wavy and hers is naturally straight, we have a hard time looking much like one another when our hair is done.
She loves to dress alike and we do that as often as possible, but the hair! We just can’t get our hair to look anything alike! It probably doesn’t help that she’s blonde and, while I am naturally blonde too, I dye my hair red.
OMG I can’t believe I just said that out loud.
Do you still love me? I hope you still love me. It’s just hair dye. I’m still the same crazy person I was before you found out I dye my hair red.
Moving on.
Back in May while I was at SoFabCon, my girl, Amy hooked me up with a brand new hairdo courtesy her Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® . I was skeptical at first because I have a metric ton of thick, wavy hair that doesn’t hold heat-induced-curl to save its life (I’m sure my old high school dance coach remembers how maddening my hair was). It took Amy a long while, and her arm nearly fell off, but when she was done, my hair was GORGEOUS. Sorry, not sorry. My hair was gorge.
Still skeptical, we left the hotel to go hang out for the day and by the time we got back that evening, my hair was still curly. I know, I couldn’t believe it either. I went to bed that night with a gorgeous head of hair and thought I would wake up looking like Buckwheat.
That’s not even remotely what happened. I finger combed a few curls, and VOILA! beautiful second day hair. I was immediately sold on this magical curling tool and vowed to get one as soon as I returned to Raleigh because I wanted great hair every day.
Well, that didn’t happen because we soon after found out that we were moving to Florida. I was all about letting things go rather than acquiring new stuff. Now that we’ve settled back in and purchased some organizational tools for this teenie, tiny house we’re living in, I had to have my Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® . I’ve been trying to stay away from blow drying my hair because I’ve been really, really mean to my hair and it’s just insane damaged. It has been dyed, bleached, dyed again, bleached some more, straightened, teased, and dyed a little more. I was really super crazy stoked to hear about the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer.
For someone with curly hair, this hair dryer is pretty revolutionary. While I can’t gauge how much less frizz I had after using it, there was markedly less frizz. I think I could even go without straightening my hair which is pretty remarkable. It was more quiet than my other hair dryer which means I don’t have to turn my wireless speaker up so loud the neighborhood can hear it, and my hair was so sleek and soft afterwards. My hair is rarely sleek and soft. It generally feels like a horse’s tail, not soft, healthy, human hair.
I have tried to stay away from letting Madilyn blow dry her hair because I don’t want her to be addicted to something that she doesn’t need, but I can get with letting her curl her hair in our fabulous new Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®. We made our own headbands and came up with some easy new looks that look great on both a little girl and her mama.
Check out our easy no-sew headband tutoria l !
You can go ahead and say it – this hair style looks better on her than it does me. No hard feelings.
It is insane easy to draw your hair into the chamber of the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® ! And you guys. You don’t even need to Aqua Net the junk out of your hair. This thing just works. It’s a great way to style your hair effortlessly. Just don’t forget the bobby pins when you run to Walmart to pick these absolutely necessary hair styling tools. Your hair will thank me.
Now check out our easy tutorial and enjoy your new effort-little hairstyle!
1. Sweep hair from the left side to the right so that all of your hair is hanging over your right shoulder.
2. Create either a dutch lace braid, or a standard dutch braid from left ear to the base of the right ear. Use a clear elastic to hold the braid in place.
3. Take your hair in 1″ sections and use the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® to draw it into the chamber. Once the curling tool beeps to tell you that it is done, release hair. Repeat this step until all sections are curled.
4. Use bobby pins to secure hair just in front of your ear so that it hides the clear elastic used to tie off your braid.
5. Put on a headband.
6. Smile and wave, girls, because you look fanTASTIC!

So very cute!! You are both looking fabulous! 🙂

Thanks, Dawn! 🙂 You can’t even tell from these photos that Madilyn doesn’t feel well.
Trisha Haas says
Aww, I love it. Do you think Charlotte could do this on her own? Id like to get her one but I am not sure.
Summer says
Trisha, she might need a little help at first, but I think she could get the hang of it. I think it’s a lot safer than a standard curling wand.
Jenn - Doing Wheelies says
I’ve been coveting one of these curlers for SO long! And then I went and cut my hair really short . . . *sigh* maybe when it grows out.
You two look gorgeous! Love the headbands, too!
Summer says
Yes, Jenn! grow your hair back out and make it the first thing you buy. 🙂
