I don’t know about you, but I love Christmas. I love the parties, the smells, the giving, the parties, the Christmas trees, and the parties. Did I mention I love the parties? I’m especially partial to those parties that only involve adults. You know the kind, the kind where the wine and whiskey are a’flowin and those of us who spend our days entertaining folks of the younger variety are free to pretend we’re in our early 20s again. I love the gift exchanges and just having the ability to laugh and hang out with friends and family without an angry four year old screaming in the background – kinda like the soundtrack of my life happening right this very minute, actually.
Honest to goodness, these kids push me closer and closer to the mü coffeehouse cocktails by the minute. Yeah, I know you’re used to me drinking whiskey, but I recently found this fancy creamy vanilla latte cocktail called mü and I could not be in more cocktail heaven than I am right now. Er. . . I mean. . . than I will be tonight once the kids are in bed and I’m drinking a glass in silence. It’s creamy and delicious, kind of like Coffee Break meets Happy Hour, which is basically what my heaven is going to look like. It takes the edge off of those super rough days with 13.9% alcohol. I promise not to tell if you drink it out of your favorite coffee cup. Bonus: It’s ready to drink and is PERFECTION over ice. Don’t ask me how I know.
I was thinking forward to the up and coming parties on our calendar (ssshhh! It’s our secret that I haven’t actually been invited to any Christmas parties yet this year, but if I WERE…) and what delicious baked good I might create to take. The thought popped into my head that taking some chocolate latte cupcakes with a boozy buttercream dressing was right up my alley. I mean honestly, what would pair better with the mü creamy vanilla latte anyway? Nothing, the answer is nothing.
So I set to work by pulling out my favorite gluten free chocolate cupcake mix and I substituted the buttermilk requirement with a cup of mü creamy vanilla latte . The real treat is the homemade buttercream frosting that will have the person nibbling on the cupcake making obscene noises and gestures, I can promise you that. Just don’t forget to take an extra bottle of this creamy deliciousness to gift to your hostess, and to chase the cupcakes with. It’s available at Publix and other retailers, so look for it and stock up. You won’t regret it.

Step 1 | |
This step is easy. Make the cupcakes according to the package instructions. Super easy. Just don't burn them because burned booze is grounds for dismissal.
Boozy Frosting | |
Step 2 | |
This is where the magic happens - truly. Cream the butter in the bowl of your stand mixer with the paddle attachment. If you haven't yet entered the 21st century, use your hand mixer and enjoy the ride.
Step 3 | |
Gradually add the powdered sugar in once butter is fluffy. Once all powdered sugar has been added, beat for 3-4 more minutes until fully incorporated and creamy.
Step 4 | |
Add the mü coffeehouse cocktail, one Tablespoon at a time until fully incorporated.
Step 5 | |
Pipe the boozy frosting on your cooled drunkcakes and present them to your favorite adults for a deliciously good time. Top with a cordial cherry if you'd like to make someone laugh. |

These cupcakes sound amazing! Everything is better with a little added booze. Now I’m on the hunt for this cocktail because (gasp) I haven’t seen it in my area before. {client}
