Sometimes Valentine’s Day can be the most difficult Hallmark Holiday for us Cave People. It is a holiday riddled with sugary treats and promises of love for the day. But what about those of us who don’t eat refined sugar? Or those of us who want to promise love all year long?
It’s easier to find gifts that induce healthy lives than you might think. Sure, we have to balk in the face of Valentine’s chocolate tradition, but let’s do it! Let’s make this Valentine’s Day a holiday of health and fitness.
I have compiled a list of the top Valentine gifts of the year, all of which stick to our grain-, sugar-, and dairy-free lifestyles; and promote health all year long.
They are in no particular order and I have included gifts for all budgets within some of the categories.

5. Workout Gear for your active lovie
I’m a little chesty and in desperate need of a High-Impact Sports Bra. No matter how big or small your lady’s lovely lady lumps are, she needs some support when she’s knocking out a few hundred Burpees every week. She won’t be offended, I promise.
Low Budget
Good Sports bras can be expensive, but they are necessary! Gals? Get your dude some new shorts to show off those hot glutes.
Mid Budget
Get her a new sports bra (KNOW HER SIZE!) and a pair of totally necessary CrossFit Socks.
High Budget
Get her a new sports bra, some shorts or pants, a pair of CrossFit Socks, and a new pair of barefoot or thin-soled shoes.
6. Bacon Gifts in General, Make My Day
Do these really need explanation?
Low Budget
Mid Budget
This is amazing. You cook the bacon in it and the grease drips to the bottom for easy rendering. If I don’t get one of these puppies for Valentine’s Day, I’m going to flip my lid.
High Budget
Just get your loved one all of the above, and maybe 5lbs of locally sourced, grass-fed bacon. (s)he will love you forever and ever, amen.
7. Kitchen Ware
When you cook at home, there are all kinds of gadgets that make your life SO much easier, especially when it comes to prep in the kitchen. I couldn’t live without my Mandoline slicer, and your love shouldn’t have to either. These products will make your kitchen life so much easier. Who knows? You might even fall in love with cooking again!
Low Budget
This Mandoline will make prep work a breeze. Plus, you can make those stringy zucchini noodles to mix things up a bit with your tomato sauces. Who says we can’t have “pasta”? If your sweetie has a mandoline, get them a new CrockPot. I cook in my CrockPot a couple times a week and you can never have too many CrockPots!
Mid Budget
Grab a mandoline slicer and a great pot that can be used on the stovetop and in the oven.
High Budget
A nice Dutch Oven (NO, I’m NOT talking about the hot fart under the covers kind) is every woman’s dream. I’ve been jonesing for one of these bad boys for YEARS. They come in all sizes and colors. She’ll flip. Especially if you put an apron inside and ask her to wear it with nothing else on under it while making dinner. Ladies? If your guy is a whiz in the kitchen he’ll love one of these too.
8. A Sassy Dress
Get your gal one of the many Dresses from Shabby Apple so that she can show off her Body by Bacon & Burpees. Shabby Apple’s dresses are classically classy, extremely well crafted, and comfortable. My favorite feature of their website is that you can search by body type. I am currently an hourglass shape (hoping to become more of a pear this year), and Shabby Apple has never steered me wrong in the dress department. Buy her one of these dresses, then keep her in for a romantic home made meal for those of you on a Low Budget. For a High Budget, take her out for a night on the town, but don’t forget to check out a pair of shoes from Shabby Apple for the total package.
9. Chocolate
It’s True! Us Paleos can have chocolate! Just please don’t buy us the kind you get at the local drug store. We would much more appreciate rich, dark chocolate from sustainable sources. Visit The Paleo Parents and scroll down to “Chocolate” to find the chocolates your honey can eat, and would love.
10. Mix & Match
Find your favorite things from above and mix & match presents to meet your budget.

Funny you should post this – I was thinking last night that I would really like one of those expensive boar hair brushes mentioned in Skintervention. I have a cheaper one that is round, but would like a flat version also. I would imagine it lasts forever!
Summer says
Yeeeeesssss! I would love one of those too. I had one growing up, but I’m a big girl now and should get another one. 🙂

There’s no fatty meats in Paleo Dieting so away with the bacon. It hurts just to look at it. 🙁
Summer says
OH MY, Gerri! Who told you that dirty little lie? Eat up!
