You guys know how much of a movie buff Styles is.
(Catch some of his reviews at the bottom of this post)
What you might not know is that his favorite comic book character is Black Panther, so I thought it was best if he handled the release of the Black Panther trailer. Pinning him down to write it was about as easy as trying to catch Spider-Man, but I finally did it, and here’s what he has to say.
Black Panther is one of those characters that no one who isn’t a comic book reader really knew about until Civil War, which is honestly a shame.
I’ve known about Black Panther for years, and I recognize him as one of the coolest superheroes ever.
Let me break it down.
Black Panther is the 8th smartest man in the world, he became one with a Panther God (I kid you not), both Doctor Doom and the gods of Asgard respect him, he can dodge bullets (even though he doesn’t really need to because of his vibranium suit), he caught both the Wolverine and SpiderMan off guard, and in the comic books he defeats Iron Man even though Tony Stark is wearing a suit made specifically to fight Black Panther!
My point is Black Panther kicks ass,
so when I saw he was getting his own movie I got really excited.
When I saw this teaser my excitement grew. Now everyone else can see how much of a badass Black Panther is. T’Challa finally gets the spotlight he deserves.
I’m going to pipe back in here. I just have to say one thing. Michael B. Jackson. ‘Nuff said.
Marvel Studios’ BLACK PANTHER follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
