It’s a tale as old as time, and a rhyme as played out as any other (as I’m sure I’m not the only blogger who WENT THERE), but it’s genuinely one of the top three best Disney movies ever made. EVER. Across all genres. And now it’s coming to life starring the beautiful, poised, and perfectly cast Emma Watson as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, set to arrive in theaters on March 17, 2017.
With a cast including Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald with Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson, I’m swooning. This movie cannot get here soon enough.
After I had the esteemed privilege of seeing The Jungle Book come to life at the red carpet premiere in Los Angeles back in April, I began to feel this gnawing excitement for all of the up and coming animated-to-live-action movies coming to life on the big screen. When it’s a movie you know every word to, the excitement just grows. It also cohabitates nicely with a healthy dose of nervousness as you wonder how the director will do your beloved classic justice. After seeing what Jon Favreau did with The Jungle Book, I have no doubts that Beauty and the Beast, directed by Bill Condon, will be equally magical.
