Friends don’t give pregnant friends receiving blankets, they give them brand new Little Remedies® Advanced Colic Relief from Target & luxurious pampering products, and I’m going to tell you why in this great post that has been sponsored by Collective Bias & its advertiser. #CollectiveBias #MyLittleRemedies
I read something recently that was written by a mom who was upset by not getting much off of her baby registry, and I just laughed to myself. Hard.
Any woman who has had more than one child knows that there isn’t a first time mom on the planet who knows what she will need when baby is born. Most of the time mom registers for things that wind up completely unused and taking up valuable drawer or shelf space. The amount of junk I had when Styles was born was completely overwhelming, and I’d venture to guess that over half of it went unused.
It is with that knowledge that I quickly glance over a baby registry before proceeding with my baby shower gift purchase, purchases that rarely include anything from the registry. Of course, if I see something super important that mom and baby just can’t live without, I’ll gladly purchase that for the new mom, but I’ve done this before, three times to be exact, so I use my infinite wisdom to buy things that mom and baby both need, but don’t know they need.
My babies were all pretty good (or maybe that’s the new baby amnesia talking?), but Styles did have some wicked colic when he was about 2 months old. As a new mom, it was a struggle knowing what to give him. I’m kind of a natural-ish type mom, and I don’t like giving my kids things they don’t need, but I do want them to experience relief if there’s something safe on the market that can help them out. Having something on hand to relieve him during his first bout with colic at 3am would have been fantastic. Unfortunately, my cupboard was bare, so to speak, and I just had to cry it out with him.
Little Remedies® has always been one of my go-to brands for safe products for my kids, and I’m a little jealous that the Advanced Colic Relief wasn’t around when I was having babies. Before you make any assumptions, I must inform you that as of October 1, my baby making days will be officially, medically OVER, thankyouverymuch. That doesn’t mean I can’t help my friends who are still breeding become wholly prepared for when their little one wakes up singing the song of their people at 4am, right?
Little Remedies® Advanced Colic Relief is a *dietary supplement that is safe for children of all ages. It is a chamomile herbal blend that has been shown to reduce crying by 60% – hey, I’ll take what I can get! It has no artificial flavors, colors, dyes, or alcohol. That’s good, right? Don’t want to make your baby tipsy at 2am, they’ll have plenty of that in college. *(This statement has not been evaluated by the food and drug administration. When Styles was just growing out of the colicky stage, this new thing (which wasn’t really a new thing, but a vintage thing coming back in style) came on the market. It was called Gripe Water. I immediately thought it had the best name for any product in the history of ever, but I was also totally bummed it hadn’t been around for his infancy. Little Remedies® Gripe Water is another dietary supplement that all moms should have in their arsenal. It is safe and gentle for relieving stomach discomfort and gas from colic and hiccups. It is fast acting, and also has no artificial flavors, dyes, or parabens. *(This statement has not been evaluated by the food and drug administration. Bearing all of that in mind, I like to put my baby shower gifts together with comfort and luxury in mind. Moms with new babies at home, whether it’s their first or seventh baby, all want a few basic things:
- Sleep
- To feel pretty
- Plenty of diapers
- To know why their babies are crying and what they can do to help
- Sleep
- Something cozy to do this mom-thing in
- Breasts that don’t leak
- Sleep
- A Shower
- Onesies for game day
- Sleep
My New Baby gifts always keep those things in mind, but obviously they look a little different for each mom. The one thing they all have in common is that each element in every baby shower gift I’ve ever purchased is from Target. It might be a little bit of an obsession, I don’t know.
I think it’s important to keep time in mind when buying for a new mom. Face wipes help mom maintain that new-baby glow without ever having to dunk her head under a faucet, because really she doesn’t have time for that. Luxurious hand cream helps mom’s hands stay soft and supple when she’s neglecting her fingernails for those first couple months. A towel wrap helps her double task when she gets out of the shower, and gives her easy access to those miraculous feeding devices attached to her chest – you know, if she went that route.
This particular gift is for my dear friend, Beth who is having a bouncing baby girl any day now. Who knows? Maybe baby girl is waiting to receive her Little Remedies® Advanced Colic Relief and Gripe Water to be born? Maybe as soon as I drop this gift off, Beth will go into labor and little baby girl will be born on the side of the road on the way to the hospital!
I really hope Beth doesn’t read this before baby girl is born. I also hope I possess no psychic or foretelling abilities.
I got the Little Remedies® Advanced Colic Relief & Gripe Water in the baby section at Target, which is also where I got the diapers. If I really need to tell you that, you should spend a little more time at Target.
Enough about me, my new baby gift essentials are:

Ok, seriously I needed this blog post before my first 3 babies were born! I go so many stinking receiving blankets and had no idea what to do with them all! I much would have preferred this baby gift! It’s chalked fulled of stuff I’ve needed the last 2 weeks since my new baby girl was born! Especially the Advanced Colic relief, that has been such a life saver with my baby girl when she’s had colic! #client
