So the week before the entire family and I came down with the Bubonic Plague, Flatironexperts.com sent me a brand new flat iron! It came on a hair washing day, but I had already washed my hair by the time it came.
Wait, what? Did you just say “hair washing day”?
Yep, I sure did. I only wash my hair about twice a week. For some of you that might be disgusting. For me it’s one day too much. My hair is massively thick, insanely course for a white girl, and crazy damaged from my escapades with volume 40 bleach. Plus? It’s curly and the whole drying/straightening process just takes way too much time. Lucky for me, my hair is also pretty dry so I don’t become an oil slick even after working out a few days a week.
So while I might sound like a disgusting mess to you, my hair thanks me. So does my schedule.
I bought my first flat iron back in 2008, just before my trip to The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL. I still have the same flat iron and while it still works like it did when I bought it, (hello, expensive flat iron!) I have noticed that it takes FOREVER to flat iron my hair. In my world, 30 minutes is forever. And that’s a rush job. I have to take tiny pieces of hair each time and iron slowly because my hair is so abundant and thick.
I was really excited when flatironexperts.com said that they would send me their best flat iron, but I have to admit, I was skeptical. Simply because my hair is such a lion’s mane.
I ended up washing my hair about 4 days after the iron arrived, and the first time I used it, I took photos and a video of my first use. I wanted to get my honest reaction the very first time.
Then the unthinkable happened. The entire family got sick. For weeks. You’ve been around – you know the story! So now I’m back and better than ever and ready to tell you all about the KQC Flat Iron and what it did (or didn’t do) for my crazy lions mane of hair.
So what do you think? Are you ready to run out to Flatironexperts.com to get yourself a new flat iron?
