I created this post as part of a #sponsored series with Socialstars and Zicam®; all opinions are my own. #ZicamCrowd
In a foregone era, we knew our neighbors and did everything with them. There were street parties, borrowing of eggs when you were baking and you dropped your last egg on the floor, babysitting one another’s children, and surprising one another with homemade chicken noodle soup when the family was run down with a cold. In a perfect world, they would have stopped by with Zicam® Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs, but not all neighbors are perfect neighbors.
Maybe some neighborhoods are close-knit like that, but mine isn’t, and I haven’t lived in a neighborhood like that in years. As a matter of fact, the last time I even asked someone for help while our entire family was down and out with the bug-which-shall-not-be-named, they seemed aghast that we would even ask for them to pick up diapers and gatorade for us. We weren’t asking for company, we were literally just asking for someone to float us $20 worth of supplies until we were well enough to repay them. Needless to say, I haven’t asked for help since. The thing is, I really shouldn’t have to, and neither should your friends and neighbors.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have the kind of neighbors and friends who would just drop some stuff by when they knew you needed it? What if you could be the person that started this chain of events? When you’re feeling crummy, the last thing you want to do is go to the store, so be the person who foresees that your friend has a cold, and has needs, and make that ish happen!
Here are some ideas of things to send to your friends and family when they’ve got a cold:

You could also send over any other, more personal necessities your loved ones need. I know when my youngest was still in diapers, that was the #1 thing I needed each time I didn’t feel like leaving the house. The #2 thing would be some sort of spray disinfectant. You could also send over instant coffee crystals, coffee pods for friends with one-cup coffee makers, some eucalyptus rub, a salt candle for purification, and some fever reducer.
You don’t have to stay and chat, shoot you don’t even have to go inside. Put the goodies on the front porch, ring the doorbell or send your friend a text, and dash. They’ll appreciate it more than you could ever know.
The one thing you just really can’t forget to send over is Zicam®. The Zicam® Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs help shorten a cold when taken at the first sign of a cold (which is why you should send a care package over as soon as your friends children get a cold because you know they’ll be catching it soon after). I don’t know a single mom out there who wouldn’t love the gift of getting their better back faster, right? Zicam® Nasal Swabs” are an affordable, homeopathic cold remedy that are zinc-free and contain plant-derived active ingredients that are clinically proven to shorten the duration of the common cold when taken at the first sign. Zicam® helps busy parents get back up on their feet and dealing with the stuff that really matters quicker.
