If you know me, you know I’m kind of a big Star Wars fan.
Like just big enough to get a giant Star Wars themed tattoo on my forearm. THAT kind of big.
But it wasn’t always like that.
I’m actually more of an Iron Man gal. I love a good MARVEL flick. I didn’t grow up with Star Wars, which surprises people sometimes.
Am I REALLY a fan?
Well, yeah. A big one, my path to the dark side was just a little different than some.
The first Star Wars film I ever saw was Episode 1. I didn’t hate Jar Jar Binks, I found him endearing; I was shocked to find out Anakin Skywalker was Darth Vader, I wanted to know more so I searched for books to read and couldn’t find any at my local Juneau, Alaska library!
When I finally saw the classic films, a boyfriend was to thank and I was hooked.
The first time I shared “A New Hope” with my children was a moment I’ll never forget. Grady was 2, Madilyn was 3, and Styles had already consumed ALL of the Star Wars films possible. They were all enamored, and our Friday Family Movie Night tradition was born.
I have always let the kids choose the movies we watch, and they almost always choose a Star Wars film. The theme song now reminds me of my kids, and the franchise is something we share, something we are all excited about.
Which is how I chose Star Wars as the theme for the Russian Nesting Doll tattoo I have on my forearm that represents my children.
I was weary of Rogue One, but once I saw it, I had a new respect for films outside of the original three films.
Now that the new SOLO: A Star Wars Story trailer has hit, I am vibrating with excitement to see the new movie.
Han Solo is a mysterious man. I’ve often wondered why he had a hard time saying “I love you too” to Princess Leia, and I’m hoping this movie unravels some of the mystery.
Plus, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.
Need I say more?
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy.
