When I was a young girl, I was always so envious of black girls and their super cool, beautiful hair. Their hair was so versatile and could do so many things! My hair was so limited on what it could do, and boring. My favorite was when my friend wore her hair in a twist. I remember thinking it was the coolest thing EVER and wishing I could do a hair twist.
Little did I know, white girls can do twists too! I was an adult when I figured that out, so I had to wait for my own daughter’s hair to be long enough to do the twist, and when her hair was all twisted, I really did the twist.
The first step is to pull your daughter’s hair up into a high ponytail.
Then separate the hair into two sections and begin twisting the section on the right to the right, towards your daughter’s ear.
Then cross the twisted section of hair to the right over the top of the untwisted section of hair on the left.
You will then twist the section of hair that is now on the right, to the right and then cross it back over the other section of hair to the left. Repeat this step until the hair is twisted all the way down, then secure with an elastic. Now you’re done with your hair twist!
