I don’t know about yours, but my kids can’t seem to keep their room clean, yet I can’t tell you how many boxes and bags full of junk we get rid of each season.
When every holiday and birthday rolls around and the grandparents ask what they should get the kids for Christmas, I’m kind of at a loss.
The last thing they need are more toys.
They don’t even need new clothes. I used to feel like experiences were a great thing to gift to them, but we live in an area that is kind of lacking in the kinds of experiences that could be gifted. Unless, of course, someone wants to start paying for Styles’ voice lessons!
Here are a few alternative gifting ideas for kids who have everything.
Prime: Give the Gift of Education
Open enrollment is live until February 28, 2018, and there is no better gift than an investment in a child’s future. There are prepaid plans for every budget. The 1-Year Florida University Plan is the newest Florida Prepaid Plan and starts at under $50 per month. It makes it easier for families to bite chunks of education off and gives grandparents the ability to pitch in and still enjoy retirement. The 1-Year Florida University plan purchases 30 credit hours without the pressure of purchasing four full years of college.
Now family members can team up to help pay for the child’s higher education. Each child can have up to four 1-Year Florida University Plans, all purchased by different people!

There is so much that is uncertain in the world today. Saving for college through Florida Prepaid College Plans isn’t one of those things. The plans are guaranteed and secure, it is a solid way to ensure a child’s financial security when it comes time for them to enroll in college.
Keep in mind: This is an investment in a child’s future.
Mid: Summer or Track-Out Camps
One of the best gifts I ever received was a week at Space Camp at the NASA Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida when I was ten years old. I had experiences other kids don’t get, I made friends with people I’ll never forget, and I got to explore my scientific side.
Now there are tons of STEM camps to choose from, all across the nation, that are accessible to everyone. A simple web search yields hundreds of day and sleep-away camps in every state in the nation.
If STEM isn’t your child’s thing, there are also numerous art camps available for your budding artist.
Keep in mind: This is a one-time experience
Budget: Crate Subscription
Crate Subscriptions are a fun way to get the child in your life interested in STEM or STEAM projects. Kid Kits , Club SciKidz Labs , & Creation Crate are three great ways to keep kids learning at home while still having fun.
There are so many other crates available, and you can purchase a subscription ahead or use the pay monthly option on many of them.
Keep in mind: Some of these may require parental involvement, and most are best for children 7 and older.
Gift giving doesn’t have to be a plastic toy from a big box store. There are so many other options, all of which will, in some way, aid your children’s future.
If investing in the future of your children or grandchildren is something you can do, consider it now.
