This week has been quite a busy week for me. I’ve had to squeeze work outs in here and there and I’ve been focusing on eating more protein than carbohydrates. It’s not always easy. Like last night, the bag of white chocolate chips was calling my name.
I’ve decided that instead of depriving myself those things, I’ll have them in moderation. So I grabbed a handful of white chocolate chips and a glass of water and that satiated my sweet tooth.
I’ve been eating eggs in the morning with fruit, a cup of coffee, and sometimes a slice of 100% Whole Wheat bread topped with spray butter. Then throughout the day, I’m eating fruit, raw veggies, cheese, and lunch meat. Dinners have been a delicate balance of carbohydrates and protein and I haven’t bought ice cream in 2 weeks. YAAAY!
I’ve also been working out. I bought Physique 57 two years ago while I was still pregnant with Madilyn and I never used it. Not once. So I pulled the DVDs out this week, dusted them off and got to work.
OK, so that’s a little bit of an exaggeration but I’ve never in my life done a workout quite like this. It is intense but super fun. They use the theory of exhausting your muscles and then stretching them. My muscles were most certainly exhausted. I had to revert to just a walk the day after my first P57 class because I couldn’t do much more than that. If our house was 2-story I would have been screwed. I’ve also gone to our community gym once (and will be going back today), and hopped on my own elliptical here at home. I love having my own elliptical but the thing I dislike about this one in particular is that it has a 14″ stride. That might be good for a short person but it’s like being on a stair master to me. And that’s fine, that really is, but I seriously want to die when I’m on it. I guess I’ll get better as time goes on.
After Grady was born, my goal was to be under 200 pounds by my 30th birthday. So much for that happening. I’ll be 30 TOMORROW and I’m still well over 200. The good news is that I HAVE lost some weight this week! Here is what my efforts have cost me:
Starting weight: 251
Ending weight: 245
Weight Lost: 6lbs
Not too shabby! I’ll lose 6lbs in one week and be happy about it! No crying and “I couldda done betters” here!
Are you trying to lose weight too? How much do you have to lose? What are you doing to help you lose the weight? I WANNA KNOW!
