I’ve suffered with migraines since high school. I become super sensitive to light after seeing some beautiful visual aura and feeling a little mentally slow. You’d think that after all this time I would know when I’m getting a migraine before it really sets in, but I’m still completely ignorant. Once the aura starts, a full-fledged migraine is about 2 minutes away. I generally have
Excedrin® Migraine
on hand at home, but until recently, I didn’t ever have it on me when we were out and about. Being out in public alone with the kids and getting a migraine is the absolute worst. I have trouble driving home, I’m sensitive to their every movement and noise, and there’s very little I can do to head it off if I don’t have the right tools at my disposal.
Back in the fall when I was coaching cheerleading, I developed a migraine just as our first competition was starting. I couldn’t believe I’d have to stay the length of a cheerleading competition with sixteen 7 & 8 year old little girls so excited for their first competition. By the grace of the eternal referee in the sky, one of the cheer moms had
Excedrin® Migraine
with her and was gracious enough to offer me two. The first few minutes was a little rough, but by the time our girls went on, I realized my head no longer felt like it had a vice on it, and the aura was gone. That migraine could have seriously ruined our first competition. I had worked far too hard to let a migraine come between me and my cheer squad. Not only did our girls win the competition, I got to enjoy it because Excedrin® Migraine worked so quickly, so I won twice.
When the family and I went to the amusement parks in Orlando a few weeks ago, I was smart enough to pack the Excedrin® Migraine in the backpack with us. As luck would have it, I developed a migraine our first day there. I guess I mistook the aura for sunshine, because BAM! just after the safari, my jaw tightened up on the left side and it felt like a giant was squishing that side of my head between his fingers. We stopped in the shade, I popped some Excedrin® Migraine and ate a snack while we relaxed for about 30 minutes. Kyle was so gracious and rallied to entertain the excited kids while I forced the giant off of my brain.
It wasn’t long before I was feeling better and able to enjoy the rest of the day with my family. Excedrin® products deliver fast relief for different types of headaches. I’m in the middle of simplifying my life and becoming healthier all around. I recently started seeing a chiropractor and he made me hyper-aware of the fact that my purse is WAY too heavy so I’m trying to downsize what’s inside my bag. I had a little canister from some probiotics that had long ago run out and thought it would make a perfect little toss & go container for my Excedrin® Migraine (indicated for migraines) and Excedrin® Extra Strength (great for those everyday headaches) pills.
I also had some cute fabric lying around the house that I never did whatever it is that I wanted to do with it, so I snatched it up, cut a swatch off, and sprayed it down with spray adhesive then carefully pressed it onto the canister.
The cap was still white and boring looking so I pulled out some old slate colored paint and sprinkled it with gold glitter then left it to dry.
Now I’ve got an adorable little pill container so that I’m never left out in public with a migraine.
