Today marks exactly 3 months since we started our Paleo journey. I’ve lost 36lbs (although REALLY I’ve lost 40 because I gained 4lbs on our trip to Florida wherein I indulged in Chipotle and had ice cream twice and other TOTALLY not Paleo treats. I’ve since lost those 4lbs and an additional 5lbs.) I feel as though it’s hard in these pictures to see exactly where I’ve lost the weight but naked I look like an entirely different person. In week 6 I still had some back fat which you can’t see in these pictures, but it is since gone. My breasts have become smaller since then, my waist is continuing to whittle away, my butt is shrinking, my thighs are smaller, my calves are smaller, and I’ve lost significant fat in my arms, face, and hands.
In addition to, and more importantly than the weight loss, I feel amazing. My hip and knee pain is gone, I have only suffered ONE headache that was induced by my cookie exchange where I indulged in non-Paleo cookies. Lots of cookies. I have so much energy that I don’t feel even slightly fatigued until it is time to go to bed. My shirts fit SO, SO much better and I actually have room in the arms now. I am down 2 pant sizes (from a 20 to a 16), and my pants are OH so comfortable now. My digestive tract is rockin’ it and I no longer have fissure or constipation problems. My skin is glowing and clear. My breastmilk supply is out of this world. I eat whatever I want to, within the boundaries of Paleo, and do not feel in the least bit deprived.
One of my favorite things about Paleo is that I don’t have to count calories. I am a total liar when it comes to counting calories so there is no lying to myself, my journal, or anyone else when I follow a Paleo lifestyle. Plus, I’m combating genetic disorders by eating Whole Foods and not “Food Products”. I could go on and on but I think that these pictures will otherwise speak for themselves:
I want to give a very special and ENORMOUS thank you to my mentors and some of the most inspiring people I have met since I started this journey:
- Tara from The Foodie and the Family
- Stacy and Matt from Paleo Parents
- And all of you: my followers and lovers of all things Banana Hammocks & Tutus. Without you and your constant encouragement, I wouldn’t be where I am today, or where I will be next month, and next year.
THANK YOU for being here for me always and for inspiring me.
