I don’t know about your kids, but my kids scream all the freaking time. Grady is otherwise known as “The Pterodactyl” and, well, Madilyn is a girl. A loud, screaming, stomping, girl. Styles thinks it’s perfectly acceptable to talk over the shrieking and screaming and it just makes for a mom whose ears are sick and tired of all the ruckus. Seriously over it. So over it, I had to create my own beverage to help me erase the emotional and mental strife these kids cause me all day long.
After everyone is in bed, I want to drown my sorrows in a refreshing, boozy vat of something that tastes like heaven and will make me feel like I’m walking in the stars.
This Adult Creamsicle does the trick.
This is my latest submission for the #NickMomPJParty at #SoFabCon14. One super lucky person will win a trip to SoFabCon in Bentonville, Arkansas in May. But perhaps more exciting than that is the opportunity to interview Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, who will be participating in the NickMom PJ Party, and having their beverage served as the featured beverage at the party. I’ll pay my own way to Arkansas. Just let me hang out with Stephanie Wilder-Taylor for half an hour please? I swear I won’t get all creepy fangirl. *crossingfingersbehindback* We’re totes gonna be BFFs.
Seriously, how great is that prize?
For me, this means four days, three nights away from my screaming, shrieking, diarrhea-of-the-mouth children with kids my own age, drinking beverages meant specifically for us. Creamsicles have grown up, even though we haven’t.
This drink is an absolute dream that makes me scream in delight. (When I’m the one screaming it’s OK. Especially when it’s elated screaming.)
Sure, it tastes like ice cream and makes you feel like a dream, but the best thing about this drink is that it’s s’creamingly easy to make. It only requires three mandatory ingredients and one optional ingredient.
HINT: the optional ingredient is NOT the vodka.
An easy, boozy beverage that makes moms everywhere feel like naughty, underage kids drinking a childhood favorite? That’s a winner in my book.
The ease of making this drink, its delicious simplicity, makes it the perfect candidate to win the NickMom PJ Party Cocktail Contest.
I’ll drink to that.
